This seems to be a very common issue when LMS is running on a NAS but
those running on other hardware don't seem to suffer to anywhere near
the same extent.
I stopped running LMS on my NAS a while ago - when updating on QNAP
became problematic due to the bug in SSOTS/SDODS - but I still keep my
music on the NAS because that's what it is good at - storing large
numbers of files.
Today it's easy to use something else for LMS and point it at the NAS
and if it's a Pi not very expensive either.
For those experiencing the Spotify issue on their NAS installs I would
suggest you seriously consider moving LMS to other hardware but keep
your files safely in the NAS. It's easy and provided both NAS & LMS are
wired it works really well.
