I had the same problems, it drove me crazy. As I wrote earlier I had
solved it by re-syncing and by setting a new Spotify password. But the
problem showed up again. In another thread it was suggested to set the
streaming to proxied streaming in the player configurations. It also
didn't help. I deleted and re-installed the plugin - didn't help. I
ended up deleting my whole LMS installation on my Synology NAS and
reinstalled everything. For now it's good, problem's gone. But I don't
trust the Spotify Protocol Handler anymore, it just doesn't seem very
solid. 

@mherger: I read in a post by Triode that the Spotify relogin mechanism
has been implemented in order to get a new Spotify server in case of
heavy rebuffering or too slow Spotify responses. My gut feeling tells me
that maybe this mechanism kicks in too quickly in case of rebufferings
and actually makes things worse by consequent relogins (one after
another, another, another...). Is it possible for you to have a look at
the part of the Triode plugin?
