Thanks, I understand. When I was writing my note I actually had the thought that the controller is not directly engaged with a player, so couldn't monitor state -- but thought that perhaps it could obtain that state from LMS. In any event, I understand that not identifying any device as "default" will solve my problem, with only minor inconvenience. I appreciate the explanations. R.
