I recently purchased a Dragonfly Red and hear quite a few clicks and
pops when streaming to my iPhone 6S through iPeng and the Dragonfly.
Let me be more specific:

I have an older (OK very old 2.0.17) version of iPeng, which to date I
have not felt the need to upgrade.

In case you don't know, the new Dragonflies are powered by the iPhone
and are connected using the Apple Camera Connection Kit.

When I play music that is saved on my iPhone (256 KBPS if that makes any
difference) I do not hear the clicks and pops. When I stream from Tidal
(lossless), I hear an occasional click or pop, but a small fraction of
the number I hear streaming through iPeng. If I weren't specifically
listening for them, I probably would not notice.

When I plug my phones into the iPhone's phone jack and stream via iPeng,
I do not hear the clicks and pops

When I stream through iPeng to my prior iPhone _5S_ and then to the
Dragonfly I do not hear clicks and pops. Nor (after limited testing)
did I hear any when streaming via iPeng on an old iPad.

My best guess (and it is only a guess) is that my iPhone 6S (but not my
iPhone 5S or the iPad) has trouble providing sufficient simultaneous
power for iPeng streaming and the Dragonfly (and whatever else the phone
might be doing). Does this make any sense? And if it does, do more
recent versions of iPeng draw less power.
