Thanks for the quick reply! Just to be sure I understand correctly. The polling is only looking for new devices, not checking whether previously detected ones are on or off? My Chromecast is hooked up to my AV Receiver and it is only available when that Receiver is turned on. I thought that the detection mechanism was also needed to make sure the known Chromecast(s) are actually available.
