This system is doing builds right now so I can't experiment.

However, the above interval is misleading because it wasn't
a five second wall clock snapshot.  A crude estimate is
it took about 25-30 seconds for this update.  I also see
a similar lag on the very first snapshot -- it definitely
waits some multiple of five seconds before displaying the
first output.

I had previously run prstat and all the processes except
powertop were sleeping and using 0.0% CPU on each snapshot
which might indicate the wakeups are kernel based.

The only new device I've attached to this system in months
is a USB Digitech GNX4, but it was removed prior to testing.
