I did a quick comparison of b154 to b155 on my Intel DX58SO + Core i7-920 system. Idle desktop power use was 114W with either build - no change.
Increased CPU utilization is the first thing I'd look for; I'd also take a look at the devices in the system and see if there were any driver changes which may change device behavior.
