That was a decision made by the early developers of PseudoPod, and I kept it in my implementation for backward compatibility in parsing old O'Reilly manuscripts. It's entirely optional, though, and entirely separate from table parsing. It's kind of fundamental to the nature of subclassing that you can override any behavior you want. :) Allison
