Yes. That will continue to be the case until at least 1.0 . That's one of the reasons I tend to recommend embedding PoDoFo in an app's source tree t this point rather than trying to use it as a system library. If you decide to package for Debian, you'll probably want to make it REALLY clear that backward compatibility is not maintained in pre-1.0 versions of PoDoFo.
