I'm sorry if my comments sounded rough.  Please accept my apologies if
anything I said sounded as a personal attack against you -- it was
certainly not meant that way.

I /am/ grateful to you for providing a Windows installer.  Still, I find
the situation of the Windows port rather disappointing.

The original author of the Windows port left me with a half-finished piece
of software which he never came back to.  I fixed most of the serious
issues with the Windows port, but since I do not run Windows, I cannot do
more than that.

My experience with the Windows users' community has been disappointing, not
only in the case of Polipo, but also in other projects.  Apparently, while
Windows users are willing to contribute to Free Software, they consider it
as a one-night-stand -- they send a half-finished patch, and never expect
to be required to come back to fix the bugs.

There is no doubt that you constitute an exception -- you have been around
for years, and have been fairly regular in updating your installers.
