Alex looked at Kat and smiled conspiritually "Sneaking up huh? Actually I
think Julia's in the study if you want to catch her. Tell her I'll talk to
her later if you would." With that she winked and let the girl go, without
pointing out that she had been sent to bed but wasn't there. Alex figured
this was one of those nights that things should be allowed to let slip.
"Thanks," Kat said winking back and waving as she hurried out of the
kitchen. Just outside the door Kat pause and considering asking if she
could have a couple of cookies, but changed her mind and started off to the
study instead. No reason to push her good luck to far, at least not just
now There was important business to discuss now.
Julia stood up and extended her hand to Nick "Want to go tell Kat good
night? I need to run by my room first to get something."
Takes a hold of her hand then stands up. "All right." Even though he already
said goodnight to Kat it wouldnt hurt to do it again. "What are you going to
get?"
Kat was moving fairly quickly by the time she got near the study door, and
she had to stop short to keep from running head long into Nick, who seemed
to appear from nowhere. "You scare me," she told him her heart pounding in
her chest.
