Nick grabbed Julia's hand then helped her up off the floor. "You want to go
out?" he asked. "Are you sure you want to do that? Not more then two minutes
ago you looked like you were going to hit the floor."

<< Julia swallowed and tried to straighten her back against the wall as the
others moved around them. She managed a half chuckle and crooked grin,
albeit a tired and confused one.

"Remind me to put in for bouncer pay, services rendered." she quipped before
holding out her hand for him to help her up "Let's go check and make sure
she's okay and then... would you mind if we got out of here for a while?
Maybe even go get a couple of beers and play some pool... anything normal."

Anything that would help get that link back with him, is what she thought.
She had fought to come back and it was all going haywire. Was he going to
keep her at arms' length forever or until something happened in the line of
duty again and they lost what she had been able to get back without anything
to show for it -- or was he going to try and accept what they had been
given, for however long it lasted?

She looked at the chair Ria had been sitting in and hoped it was the latter.
In their field of work... there was no telling what tomorrow brought.
