Derek bent down to help her, "I'll be sure to call you the next time Green
Peace comes calling, so you can tell them that," he said trying to lighten
the mood a little.  After every single ash was accounted for, Derek led the
way to the water's edge.  As he began to toss them out into the current he
looked at Alex,  He'd done this before, but the ashes meant more to him than
these.  Still it felt odd to be scattering ashes, no matter what they were.
No matter what Alex was saying, he could still sense that she was really
upset.  His own anger with the young woman had ebbed by this point.  "Things
will look better after we get some rest."  He took her arm gently and led
her back to towards the house.
