Lani wondered if running was a good idea at the moment. She had been here
only a few hours, and already she felt like she was back home on Honshu.
Everyone was at each other's throats. Only here she felt less vulnerable
somehow, despite what the Legacy stood for and what the people did here. She
watched the two Legacy members coolly and wondered why Dr. Corrigan let Derek
Rayne walk all over her like that. Precept or not, she wouldn't tolerate
being bullied. Even though the older man had some points, it wasn't necessary
to force Rachel to stay. Lani watched Ria for a moment, noticing the
uneasiness that had settled in the room.  The island was a perfect trap. "A
gilded cage." she muttered under her breath in her native language.
