Derek leaned silently against the wall feeling like an intruder in the
family scene before him. He rarely found himself having that feeling, and
he wished it waould go away now, because it was extremely uncomfortable.
"How long can you stay daddy," Kat asked curiously. Her fervent wish was
forever. She had gotten the idea from Miranda that she could have that
again, her family back the way it had been before.
NM:
"I'm always here Kit Kat." Patrick touched his daughter's cheek with his
free hand and smiled "But if you mean like this, Julia's going to do it when
she can.. but that doesn't mean I'm away. Never far away from my two
beauties."
He looked at Rachel, who hadn't said much and then looked back at Kat "You
can hug her. I'm right here."
