The little girl looked down feeling like she might cry. "Yes, but....." she
remembered, but she hadn't liked it then and she didn't like it now either.
"I just thought...it'd be different this time, since mommy could see you and
everything."

different this time, Kit Kat." Then he released her enough to meet her eyes
again, his voice low "I've already crossed over. They let me be your
guardian angel because I wanted to watch you grow up. Now you have two of
them.. and your newer one is doing everything she can so we can be closer
now. And she was right, about the crucifix, you know."
"It does help to make it easier to feel each other." He looked at Rachel,
seeing if it was alright with her to broach the subject right now.
As it was now, it was Rachel and Patrick talking to Kat. Julia had to
concentrate on keeping the link and Derek had remained at his place at the
