Jane Witherspoon awoke to the sound of feet rushing past her door. A sound
which never failed to alarm her. It usually meant something was going on
and most times it was not good things. She slid out of bed an put on her
roabe heading in the direction the feet had been going. After a search of
the house, she found the culprit in the control room. "Kristen, what's
going on? Are you all right?"
Jane Witherspoon
NM:
"Jane!" Kristen jumped a little as she turned to see her Precept standing
near her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake anyone. I'm fine," Kristen
shook her head and sighed. She decided that she had better come clean and
tell Jane what had been happening lately; if Kristen was right, Jane should
know about the potential problems surrounding the other Legacy House, and on
a personal note, if Kristen was going to be able to take the action she had
determined was necessary, if only for her own peace of mind, then she would
need Jane's permission.
"Uhm, well, maybe not completely fine. I've been having, well,
nightmares. Every night for the past week," in a strained voice, Kristen
rushed into explaining her nightmares of seeing the San Francisco House
covered in darkness, the feelings of foreboding, the terror which hadn't
failed to wake Kristen every night.
"And I keep seeing everyone's faces, Jane. In weird flashes, Nick, Alex,
Rachel, Derek..." Kristen's voice trailed off as her eyes shadowed with
remembered fear.
"Not exactly scientific I'm afraid," Kristen said to Jane with a wry
smile. "I thought I would check the computers and see if there was any sort
of problem..."
