"I don't think that's necessary," he replied settling into his seat and
watching her thoughtfully. "Are you all right," he asked suddenly his tone
rather serious.
She turned and smiled a little, tracing his features with her gaze before
admitting "I didn't expect you to answer like that is all. Of course you
probably threw me off just by giving me the keys without trying to poke fun
of my driving."
The ferry moved toward the other dock and she let her gaze move to the other
couple of cars there, more habit than anything else, before moving back to
him, smile full fledged and soft and meaning more than just the current
reason why he asked "But I'm more than all right."
Okay so she was risking another weird answer but a little part of her,
something that sparked up with his reply and made her wonder if... what if
he was having second thoughts or thought she wouldn't be able to keep their
relationship separate from work...
She looked into his eyes. Eyes were the mirror of the soul and something
she had always looked to with him when she had a question. She never could
explain it in the past but she had always been able to tell about things
when looked him in the eyes.
"What about you?" she asked quietly, meaning more than just right then "You
all right?"
