Derek had waited for Julia to get out of the way, before sinking the sword
even further into the vampire's heart, piercing him all the way through.
When he pulled the sword out it was with a slashing motiong, leaving a
gaping cut, that the knight of old would call from "fore to aft." He
closed his arms tightly around Julia, "are you alright," he asked still
feeling frantic.
The screaming also caught his attention. He moved Julia back away from him
gently, leaning hte sword against the wall, he began to search his pockets
until he came out with a lock pick. He set to work trying to free her.
"I'm afraid, I'm not as adept at this as Nick," he admitted as he struggled
to turn the small lock binding her hands. Finally, however there was a
small click and he was able to free her allowing the cuffs to fall to the
ground. He turned and point the way he had come handing her the sword.
"Get out of here," he commanded.
