OOC: The role of Sloan will now be played by me...until it's played by
Julia again and them me again and well heck, were' just out to confuse ya!
j/k We are sharing the role however.)

"Actually," Sloan answered "I would love some. Any idea when Derek will be
back?"

"None." Jonathan replied simply as he followed them in and signaled one of
the kitchen assistants as they brought in tea and biscuits "You're looking
well Mrs. Rayne."

"Thank you, Jonathan." Barbara smiled at him as she sat and accepted a
teacup and took a grateful sip. Then "We aren't unconvincing you are we?"

"Of course not." he assured her "But I would like to go make sure that both
of your rooms are ready if you don't mind?"

He left then, leaving the two surprise guests to unwind from their plane
trips.

Sloan:
"Do you think it was something I said," Sloan asked with a wry smile. He
fixed his own cup of tea and took a sip, wishing he had asked ofr coffee.
He'd been living amongst the tea tottlers for far too long. However,
accepting tea had become a reflex.

He leaned back in his chair making himself comfortable. It had been a long
flight. He gazed at his companion and was happy to see she seemed to have
taken the trip in stride, unlike Sloan himself who felt like crawling in the
nearest best, though the caffeine in the tea was helping some. He'd known
he would be making this trip for several weeks, however had put it off
because he didn't want to get into it with Derek, not about this. He had to
do some checking on Julia Walker to make sure she was ligitimate. That was
one reason he had asked Barbara Rayne to come along on the trip. <Wouldn't
you like to visit your children? I just happen to be heading that way and I
hate to travel alone. Patricia is in France visiting some friend's...> and
on and on until he convinced her. Not that it was that hard, but he had
probably over sold the trip a bit.

The other reason for this journey was more personal Milo Jeffers had up and
left. Sloan had not approved of this at all and the man was supposed to
have returned by now, but he hadn't. In fact, he hadn't even called the
house. Sloan was furious and he didn't mind fighting with MIlo or Derek
about this one. The simple fact was Milo did not belong in San francisco he
belonged in London, where he had half completed projects waiting for his
attention.

"I wonder where that son of your has gotten to," he commented.
