There had to be a mistake, there just had to be.  Derek loved her and had been with her, not Julia.  Megan remembered his expression that day and held on to the memory.   Julia had spoken just out of desperation to keep Megan from picking back up with Derek where they left off.   She went downstairs and entered the sitting room to get her purse.  She had left it there earlier.   When she got there, there was an older woman drinking tea.  Megan brushed her confrontation with Julia aside and smiled in greeting "Hello.  I'm sorry to interrupt.  I just came in to retrieve my purse."   She pointed to the purse before going over to it and picking it up.   It was obvious the staff knew the woman was here and there was something about her that tickled the edges of Megan's memory that made her ask "I don't mean to be rude but do I know you? You seem very familiar to me."
