Hesitating a moment, Julia went with him and started to pick up things that had fallen out of Megan's purse.

Megan stooped and tried to shove the contents back into the purse without turning several shades of red.  She did not want to draw a crowd and that was exactly what was happening.  And with Julia right there!

"I have it, thank you." she said, a little hard.

Julia handed her what she had "Megan..."

Megan looked at her, voice low "He told me.  Now I'm leaving.  Mind giving me some dignity while I do that?"

Julia looked at her, keeping her own voice low and gaze showing empathy "Let one of the driver's - "

"No thank you." Megan said, just as Sloan bent to help as well.

"Is everything all right?" he asked, looking at both women with a raised brow.

"Everything's fine." Julia assured him as she took the few things he had and handed them to Megan and helped her to stand "You know how it is, big story hits and everything's a rush."

Megan hesitated for a second before letting Julia's cover story stay.  Why the woman would do that, Megan didn't know.  Or care, she mentally added.

"Let me get my keys and I'll drive you." Julia offered.  She felt like they needed to talk, especially considering she knew Derek well enough to know he probably felt bad about how Megan was feeling now.  If the women could come to some kind of... understanding... Megan wouldn't be angry with Derek.

Of course Julia wasn't too sure how she would handle having Megan involved with Derek on a platonic level... but right now she was just thinking of how this must be hurting him.

Megan looked at her for a long moment and then, surprisingly, nodded.  "All right."

Julia nodded and asked Sloan if he could help Megan out by carrying her bags out.

"Tan SUV with the red stripe on the side." Julia described the vehicle, even if it were a champagne instead, and went to go get her keys from the hook inside the kitchen door.

Sloan was about to ask Julia if she had confused him with one of her employees but stopped himself, realizing this wasn't the time or place.

Megan followed Sloan out.
