"I guess it's a good thing you spoiled dinner; that was Amber, she's
at the airport, so I've got to run out and pick her up. I'm going to
ask Derek if I can borrow his SUV, then I'll bring her back here;"
Kristin arched her eyebrow and smiled. "I could use some company...and
we can make it back in time for dessert," she added.
"Ask Alex for the keys to the other SUV," Philip adviced, seeing that Julia
and Derek were discussing something with the photographer. Then he grinned
and added as he stood and held out her chair "Vanilla ice cream?"
He explained to Nick where they were going and promised to return.
"Maybe we can come back in time to eat somethin' though. Perhaps Amber
hasn't eaten either."
