Amber shook her head. The muffins did look good,
but she really wasn't hungry, although orange juice
would have been good. She felt awkward asking, and
she definitely wasn't going to go get it herself,
since she still felt like a guest here, but she
decided that she needed to make herself act as if this
was home if she really wanted it to start feeling that
way.
"Is there any orange juice?" she asked.
Philip served up an extra glass of milk and a glass of orange juice
and
then, once he put the containers back in the fridge, went to set them
before
the two and reached over for a muffin before taking a seat himself
and
sitting back to relax, well as much as one could under the
circumstances of
guests that weren't really guests now walking through the House and
the
shelanker he pulled last night.
"Thanx." Kristin attempted a 'normal' smile; it came out slightly
lopsided. She didn't want to alter the way she acted around Philip-she
couldn't bear the idea that he knew how she was feeling.
Looking back to Amber sipping her orange juice, Kristin managed
another grin. "Did you get your unpacking finished?" If she hadn't,
that might be a plan for the morning, so she could avoid the council
members. Not that she wanted Amber out of the way, she just knew how
Amber felt around people.
