Derek followed Julia outside. He was slightly shocked, but her outburst and
accusations also made him angry. "YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO ME,' he shouted
in frustration. "ALL I want is for people I send in there to be prapered.
FIFTEEN minutes of conversation is NOT preperation. WE are probably NOT
talking about something as straight forward as an abusive teacher. I was
paying attention to what Amber was saying, were YOU? How do you expection
Kristin and Philip to go in there and do anything, fi Jane is as perceptive
as Amber says? SHE said that Jane shows up if they start to talk about her
and she PREVENTS them from doing anything about all this. WHAT makes YOU
THINK, the same thing wouldn't happen with them if it's already happening to
members of her own house? They need some kind of PLAN and some more
information, BEFORE they jump into something that DANGEROUS. ALL I AM
asking for is a little time to look into a FEW things. I WOULD be THRILLED
if anyone wanted to help me, but all any of you seem to want to do is send
two people off without a second thought to their safety and ultimate
success. IT WILL NOT do Amber any good, if the two people who go to
investigate this end in the same shape...or worse! I'm not asking for
months or weeks or even days! Just an HOUR or TWO. I don't think that's
too much ask, but appearently everyone else seems to have a problem with it.
And just for the record, I WAS NOT LAUGHING AT YOU! I was laughing at the
situation." Derek turned and started back towards the house. He turned
upon reaching the door, "Since you seem to think you KNOW everything that's
important about the situation, you can just tell them to do what they want."
He turned and stormed into the house and up to his office furious. He was
angry with himself for not expressing himself better to those around him,
but he was also angry with the whole lot of them for being so unreasonable.
He sat down at his desk folding his arms on the top and glared down at the
paperwork scattered there. He felt like he was banging his head against a
brick wall. Though the idea of actually doing just that had it's appeal.
He rubbed his eyes feeling for the first time the fatigue that had been
plaguing him for the last few days.
