Derek put his uninjured arm firmly around Julia supporting her as the went
out to the ambulance. He normally would have stopped her from doing what
she did, if for her own sake only, however he was dealing with his own bout
of slight dizziness at the moment she went after Megan. And people thought
he had a temper, he smiled slightly and shook his head.
Julia stayed by his side, to the point that the medics put them both in the
same ambulance, sitting beside each other as they tended to Derek and had
Julia put on an oxygen mask, a safety measure for the baby.
She slipped her hand into his free one and set her head back against the
wall to close her eyes, holding on tight but not painfully. They only thing
she wanted to do was get them checked out and then home.
She heard the sounds of sirens outside the ambulance and knew that the one
holding Alex and Nick was heading toward SF General, where they would be
headed.
"Derek.." she spoke, low enough so only he heard "I want to sleep at home
tonight."
Holding him and thankful that they were all safe. If she was going to be
stuck in the hospital tonight then she wanted to do the same thing, hospital
rules be .... darned. They could save the hotel room for some other time
too.
