Derek jumped slightly as he heard Julia's anguished scream. "Is that what you thought we should discuss," he demanded of Sloan before jumping to his feet and heading out the door and down the stairs. "Julia!"
Julia held the tray ready to take another swipe at the thing, backing up toward the wall that held one of the House's many security system boxes. She slapped one of the controls "Security grid One! Rayne-two-niner!" The crystal grids she had set up when she first returned came to life, moving in on the alien form that didn't match any of the DNA or brain wave patterns the system held and aimed a series of beams around the creature. Julia looked up as Derek appeared at the stairs and called up in warning "Don't touch the grid!" It was the same one that had destroyed Horton when he had tried to kill Derek and others.
