Derek finished his call, headed down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and then back upstairs to clean up. However he paused in the second floor corridor and then headed for his office to check his calendar, since he was there.
When he entered he found Julia seemingly staring off into space. He came up behind her and bent to kiss her cheek, then his eyes went to the computer screen "What's going on?" Julia blinked when she felt his kiss and knew she must have been into some deep thoughts if she hadn't even seen him enter. Her gaze went to his and then, with her lips twitching softly, she reached up and ran the back of her fingers against his slightly stubbled cheek. She had already turned off the screen to the laptop but she knew she couldn't lie to him. But did she have to tell him now and ruin that happy light in his eyes? "You've got that rugged outdoorsman thing going," She murmured, kissing his lips and continuing to stroke his cheek and letting her gaze trace his features before meeting his gaze "Going to the pediatrician like that?" Today was the day for that as well, although she was more than sure he knew that.
