Okay, I'll give it a whirl:

Open The Bat, or as we say in the States, "Batter up! <g>:

In the left folder pane, highlight the account to which you wish to 
assign as the mailto default.  If you only have one account there, 
then this probably won't be necessary.

Now from the top menu, select:

Account | Properties 

In the left Properties pane select "General".

See the bottom of the General properties for a check box for "This 
account is the default for mailto: URLs"  Check that box.

You can then Okay yourself out of there.  

You might need to do a reboot to set this into your Registry, 
otherwise just closing The Bat might suffice.
