ehy!
which is how i misspell hey!
i have only just caught up with the new yo la tengo album an am digging
it muchly but the thing that keeps getting me is that noisy song
somewhere in the middle that spoils the sleepy serene pace of the rest
of the album.
it really irks me when a band does this, especially when you are well
into an album, perhaps even drifting off to sleep in bed and wham! you
are woken up by a blast of guitars and whatnot.
it reminds me of the tindersticks and the song on the curtains album ,
track 4 or 5, with loud, messy guitar that has no flow with the album as
a whole and for me puts a ditch in what would otherwise be (for me) a
fantastic album.
does this happen for any one else with other albums?
i have a friend who has a problem with the song "me and the major" or
whatever on b&s' sinister album.
it sometimes makes me wish i could put a well aimed scratch right on
that particular song.

speaking of the tindersticks i picked up a promo only album called marks
moods that has instrumental versions plus some of the original tracks of
the curtains albums in addition to a few others from round the way.
and i am still in awe of their last album.

hangin' tough,
damien
