desktop files/icons need some @exec/@unexec lines in PLIST; portcheck ought to point these out you talk about running the server and it being dangerous to run as root; the port should probably create a userid to run this as and include an rc script WANTLIB should go immediately below the PERMIT line, when somebody gets round to doing a sweep of the ports tree to fix these up it's a lot easier if they are in the common place as used in Makefile.template
