Codex and Code Generation Output generated by code generation features of our Services, including OpenAI Codex, may be subject to third party licenses, including, without limitation, open source licenses. Both OpenAI and Anthropic seem to provide legal indemnity for paying customers, however as far as I understand this does not nullify copyright/licensing restrictions. Small fragments of copyrighted code may still be covered by the original license. In the context of the Postfix project, if you are confident copyright/licensing violations will never happen because you are the gatekeeper, who reviews the code, and can identify every fragment of code that duplicates existing work in all of the open source repos on which AI models were trained, that is fine. Projects like NetBSD and GCC have mostly banned submission of AI generated code for various reasons.
