The speed problem of my > old script was caused by a timer that was run every two seconds to > perform some sort of autocompletion. I decided I had to be more clear here. But, I couldn't quite remember what happened exactly at that time since it's such a long time ago (~ a year?) and about that time I started using PP so I didn't quite understand how the script worked, I'm sure I didn't even know *Keys. But I believe that the following was basically what happened: Suppose there were two aliases: "abcd" "acde" Firstly, I adjusted the timer earlier (~ 1 sec?) in order that I didn't have to wait too long. Then, I tested the followings. 1) just typed "a": I was pretty satisfied with the result. Quite quickly autocompleted as "abcd". 2) Then, I typed in a pretty fast sequence "a" "c" to get "acde": But, I was frustrated with the result, what I got was "acbcd..." or someting in a mess like that, I believe. In retrospect, I think it's because of the use of "*Keys" (right?) and there is no way to interrupt it in meantime (there is?). In view of the recent support of autocompletion by PP, I think I can rephrase it as: "How could you 'highlight' the part to be typed yet in the suggested autocompletion and to clear it at next key press, even in a (fairly) instant manner?", by a pure script way. All my doubt about the usefulness of the autocompletion by any script, while there exist other ways, was mainly derived by this experience, well, at least in PP only. ------------------------ Yahoo!
