The new release is another great release of PowerPro. And I am so
grateful that Brucexs (the person who should complete his userprofile
for this forum...) does not stop working on PowerPro. Endless thanks.
I know that there are better things to do than doing something for
people he has never seen even if I cannot give an example at the
moment.

I had just a glimpse on the new release (but it is in use already)
since I have to prepare a long journey. But I could not wait to see
the new PowerPro:-)

So I tried at least the *Timer AutoSave function. I asked for it
since I wanted to stop PowerPro from updating the config file
(because of Auto save of timer values) if I am doing for instance a
video capture (where it leads to skipped frames). Or if I am just
using the notebook on the bulky battery with HD off (my system has a
lot of memory with a huge RAM-disk what I save at certain but my long
intervals) or if I am doing other tasks where this does not come in
handy. In respect of the ram disc and completely off topic - see at
the end...

It really works even on my mighty Win95C! One drawback with *Timer
Autosave is that the set value is not saved in the config file. So
you have to set it every time PowerPro starts if you do not want to
use the standard 5 minutes interval -> scheduler with *Timer Autosave
as workaround.

Best Regards and Many Thanks Again,

Peter

COMPLETELY off topic. Only read if don't care that you waste your
valuable time!

If you are doing Internet it ?might? be a ?good? idea to put your
Temp Internet files on a RAM disc. Your browser will fly and your HD
will R.I.P. (Rest In Peace). Writes are not (or if set not long but
in a dangerous way) cached - and there are many writes. M$ describes
the use of the RAM-disc with IExplorer on their site for Win95 and
even for the awful 98 and the useless ME & XP. Have a look there. But
be aware that the RAM-disc gets cleared every time when you (re)start
your computer (not under the "short restart" with Shift + Restart at
the great OS Win95). But this clean up (100 percent secure and
cleaner than than the best cleaning tools for HDs) can get costly if
you pay per volume since all items have to be loaded from the
Internet again. For Win95 I have a complicated trick to put a "start
set" into the RAM-disc despite blocked files, long filenames and
under DOS not writeable signs like []. XP users might have to
downgrade to a better system or to buy an expensive software. Perhaps
they have a stony way to get out of their misery - I never wasted my
little money, huge computer resources and endless time on this OS.

AND If you want to see what your HD is really doing while you are
surfing the dark corners of the Internet -> Freeware Filemonitor at

Use the filters and don't forget that many READS are cached!
