No wonder why you're satisfied with the MS's proprietary
ramdisk driver. :-)

AFAIK, though I never used MS's one, it has a few limitations
such as the size limit of 32MB and being identified as
a "Ram Disk", not as a (emulated) "Hard Disk".
But, they seem no problems for your usage.

BTW, those I linked overcome these limitations.
