Another way of testing whether exec.setenv() worked
is to have a command such as %pp%\dundial ...
That always works as it should, i.e. if I do:
exec.setenv("pp","nonsense")
then the dundial command breaks
If I then do: exec.setenv("pp","c:\shells\powerpro")
then the dundial command works again.
So the problem is only with Set at a cmd prompt
which is not refreshed by closing and opening cmd.
Thus cmd's environment seems to get out of step
with Windows' environment.
