'*TrayIcon' does not rely on the tray support pprotray.exe. You may check whether the tray support is really working or not by using '*Menu Tray' which needs the tray support. I used to use the proxomitron but have never tried any other ones among these. So I can tell only for the proxomitron and I was able to train PP for its trayicon without a problem (My OS is XP Pro). I can't see any reason why it does not work on your machine. What is your default language for the non-Unicode apps and/or what is your default configuration file name for the proxomitron?
