Ozkan/anyone: > Please read "newbie faq" in group's file section. > Documentation/Newbie FAQ&Tips >>Q : I'm using Windows XP (Home or Pro). I can't run my SHORTCUTS when I left click them within PowerPro *Menu Folders.
- Check to see if you still have 'IsShortcut' string under [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile] Some programs deletes this string from registry (PowerPro doesn't ). <snip> << The Registry details of the above tip made me wonder if you might have some brilliant insight into *this* non-PowerPro related question. On my system - Win2K SP4 - Windows Explorer does not show icons for .ICO and .DLL files. I found this tip by Neil Rubenking (of PCMag) http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,911556,00.asp It says : >>Installing an icon editor program may cause Windows Explorer to display that program's icon instead of your ICO files' icons. You can use the same technique that fixes this problem to display icons for BMP files or to display the first-available icon in a DLL. In each case, you open the extension's key below HKCR, for instance, HKCR\.ico. The filetype variable is the (Default) value's data (in this example, icofile). Substitute this for filetype in the key shown below. HKCR\filetype\DefaultIcon (Default) String "%1"<< I've done this for both .ICO and .DLL extensions but still don't get icons displayed. Have you or anyone else got any idea what else might be wrong with my setup. FWIW: ICO files open in SnICO and DLL files open in DependencyWalker on my system. Regards ...
