I am sure PPro does not work with Win98 or WinXP - even if Bruce says
he only supports XP. XP is supported by Microsoft anyway and Bruce
has to keep up to even show performance data. Does Bruce think about
64 Bit already - just around the corner?

I never got any response to my problem listed above. But I wasted
four days finding out why my WinXP does not work anymore. I could not
use PPro and XP at the DOS level - just 1 problem I found. I am
working for networks at my company and PPro made it impossible to
ping to any IP address or use any DOS-programm. It slowed it down so
that you could not use it or it just killed the system.

I installed a new naked version of PPro and it worked. Than I tried
to copy the setup of my old config to PPro. PPro cannot handle a copy
of the config. It complained about entries you never will see in the
old PProConfig - they don't show up but they are there. It is unable
to handle them and leaves scrap - hidden but working.

But if you think you can copy for instance command lists you are
wrong. PPro cannot even copy leading spaces. It is a joke...so be
prepared for a lot of work. Don't think about timers and a lot of
other things.

I really set up the old problem config like the new problem config.
But it still did not work - there is too much hidden scrap you cannot
see I guess or PPro cannot work with XP. Finally I suceeded but even
after all this hours I do not know why - I guess it is another hidden
scrap entry in the config - what somehow cannot be - I entered the
config anew with a lot of work. Perhaps the next change will make XP
not work again.

PPro was a good idea - but I am afraid the developer and some of his
friends lost reality. They just care about problems almost nobody
will have. But never about basic functionality. I am afraid PPro has
lost the link to the customers. There must be a reason while they
need two forums already - one for new users and one for the absolute
freaks...

Bruce should think again about the basic problems. With all this
computer power and all the alternative software PPro really should
start to think about the future it could have...but it might give up
because of dealing to much with minor problems. There are many users
needing basic functionallity. As long as this does not work you will
never succeed in the long run... And beeing stuck-up and not even
responding to unpleaseant messages makes it worse. Hope this one does
not disappaer like many otherw of other people who did complain about
PPro or told for instance that an Allan Martin - altough he wanted to
leave this formum at his own will because he was aware of causing to
many problems here...but he is still doing the same?! Guess PPro and
he will share the same future...
