You did not provide a file/string to run your script against so I ran your script against the readme.htm that comes with the plugin (so that people will be able to replicate my tests). I had to adapt the script because the version of PP I'm using doesn't support that syntax.
Your script didn't crash PP with what will most likely become 1.4.2 at some point and my build of PCRE 6.7. The plugin wasn't designed to handle so many replacements on such a long string so it freezes PP for a moment but it works. I hope I'm going to be able to release a faster plugin soon (1.4 is already a good bit faster than 1.3). The output was a mess, but that was to be expected considering the script. Your script did crash 1.3.1 though... the first time I ran the script it looked like it was going to take forever and then PP silently quit. I ran it a second time and I though I'd share the result: Windows' software DEP (not enabled by default) was triggered! Interesting isn't it? So I guess the possible buffer overflow I anounced last week has just been confirmed. This is the first time I've triggered the DEP with my own code. :-) My educated guess is that your very small replacement strings triggered the (now infamous) memory management bug several times. The more replacements you do, the more likely you are to trigger it (it only affects long strings and it gets worse the bigger the string). So it looks like you wasted your time reporting a bug that had already been fixed. Thanks anyway. You report would have been very useful a month or two ago so please continue reporting any bugs you encounter (with enough information to enable me to reproduce it).
