That would be surprising, although anything is possible.  

Does a hot key say ctrl-alt-x attached to window close under work for 
closing the brower when the mouse if over the browser?

I use Norton which works for me, although many people say it is not the 
best.  But I prefer to stick with what is working.  Right click on 
caption does work to close ie7.
