In this particular case, you may consider using event plugin with
whole script as a command (beware of the length limit of the command:
530 plus some):
(:press ctrl key a while to exit the event)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
global dnrate,uprate,_dn_,_up_,_tb_
_tb_=dll.create_array(215,"ui")
_tb_[129]=2
event.create(1,0,?';;+
dll.call("iphlpapi|GetIfEntry|a*",_tb_);;+
++assign("dnrate",abs(eval("_dn_")-assign("_dn_",_tb_[139])));;+
++assign("uprate",abs(eval("_up_")-assign("_up_",_tb_[145])));;+
++win.debug("Dn: "++(dnrate/1024.0).ftos("%0.1f")++" KB/s");;+
++win.debug("Up: "++(uprate/1024.0).ftos("%0.1f")++" KB/s");;+
++do(if(ctrl,"event.destroythis()++_tb_.release()"));;+
')
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
