Yes. 4.8: read entire script into memory and cache it (close script file), scan once and create separate list of labels and function names and their location in the memory cache of the script, search this list to process jump of function call 4.7: each time script is called, open file; keep it open while scrip tis running. Each jump causes sequential scan of file from start to find label. this optimization was the main reason for 4.8
