The easiest for me would be to add a win.updatewindow service. I can updload a win.dll with this if you like. But most people would not have the dll, so if you wanted your script to be useful to other people, it would be simplest to stick with dll plugin and calls updatewindow directly. I think this probably only matter if you want to show and window and then immediately do something with it that depends on it being completely drawn. I don't think there are that many cases for that.
