I'm using the latest from RPMFUSION:
kernel-2.6.27.5-37.fc9.i686
xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.543-0.4.8.11beta.fc9.i386

The funny thing is that compiz works fine but I do not have 3D
acceleration. If I run glxgears it only shows 320 fps when I know the
card can give me 9000 fps.

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV630 [Radeon HD 2600XT]

But the most important thing for me are the wake ups.
