I am presently trying to get anyone of my several powerbooks to work on an ISDN connection I have just taken in India (DSL isn't here yet). The line has been tested with an ISDN phone and it works, also I have tested the data function of a single channel on a borrowed external DIVA T/A ISDN Modem by Eicon Technologies, and that works. I have an external Sagem-Planet ISDN Geoport Adapter and also a 3ComImpact IQ modem, and I have tried with a PB 190, 1400 and a G3, all with the same result. The powerbook does not get a dialtone on the Sagem, and on the 3Com, the configuration process wizard hangs when trying to set the SPID. Perhaps part of the 3Com problem is that the software for configuration requires one to enter a 10 digit phone number, as used in the US, but our phone number here is only 9 digit. I have tried adding a "0" before and after, but there is no effect. Does anyone have any experience in any aspect of this situation? Thanks, ---------- James Cox Post Meherabad Ahmednagar Dist.
