Hi listers,

Re: my 5300c and 5300cs powerbooks ( purchased second hand) in Tokyo.

They went in for the REA program a week ago, after I pressed Apple Japan
about their eligibility for free REA according to the US Apple TIL
documentation and their serial numbers and stories from listers.

The Apple spokesperson called yesterday and said something to the effect
that it looks like there were marks that somebody already fixed them so they
can't fix them for free.

What did I want to do?

Since the repair would cost more than what I would want or can presently
afford to pay, they are sending them back to me as before.

What a disappointment!

With some tape around the screen hinges and some gentle handling I'll hope
for the best.

Thanks for listening.
Zita
