Did you solve your problem?

I was checking into a different problem for myself and found some other items 
that you may want to look for. They may not relate to a 1400, but someday you 
may have a new Mac to use also. 

I ran into an Extenstion called DVD AutoLauncher and another item with 
Monitor in the name. They run in the background and are not seen by you and 
me, but can tie up a port or processor cycles. 

I used an app to monitor the processor cycles to find out what was running in 
the background about the time of my problem, and v�ola! I caught the dirty 
rotten extension in the act. I used PPC LoadWatcher, it is not the best, but 
it gets the job done.
