Cliff,
as a regular pc user, the only laptop I used
personally for about a year now was a Toshiba T4700
486/66 with a replaced 750 meg drive (orignally had a
200). It has only 16 meg ram, but would run win 95.
The reason I mention this is that my experience with
solar power leads me to believe that this would be a
great system to run off of panels as the batter is a
12 volt system.
Good condition TXXXX systems can be in the 100-200
dollar range. They work well and include a sound
card. CD rom would have to be external, but floppy
drive is built in.
