You don't get sound control because the unit is plugged in as a Data connected device. The analog control and analog sound output are not actually connected to your PowerBook. A different driver might give you control of the sound tracks on your Reno Drive but you still have to plug a cable into the sound out jack on the drive and plug it into the sound in jack on the back of the PowerBook. Most people don't realize that the sound in CDs in their computers is actually coming through a seperate internal Analog sound cable to the sound card of the computer. With Laptops this is a bit more complicated but essentially, to hear sound our of a CD ROM drive on that PowerBook you need at least that sound out to sound in cable.
